Lyrics to It’s all Love(SuperNova ?)
I’ve been listening to Magni singing It’s all Love with Tommy Lee’s SuperEVS(my name for the band formerly known as Supernova) a little more closely these days. I did think two weeks back that it was a real strange decision to allow Magni to have the first take on a proper rock ballad before whomever SuperEVS finally picked as their frontman. Made me think that the band didn’t think as highly of Magni’s vocal prowess as I did. Well now that Lukas did sing this song on the day of the finale, the results are there for everyone to compare. Even hardcore fans of Lukas(if they listen for once rather than continue to droll over his stage act) will agree that he totally messes up the song bigtime. Not only did Lukas forget the lyrics to the first verse he also sounded like he was singing with marbles in his mouth (again!). And this is inspite of the band slowing down the song a bit to suit Lukas’s range. The lyrics themselves are not bad though I’m not sure they are particularly memorable in the I only remember silly choruses T. Lee way.

Recently in an interview Tommy Lee, the de-facto band leader, talks about their band aspiring to have a David Bowie meets T. Rex kind of sound. I figure that probably means an early 70’s glam rock kind of music. Now that would explain why Lukas’s stage act does fit in reasonably well with the band. Unlike Tommy and the band however I’ve no clue what a typical David Bowie sound is supposed to be! After all Bowie’s music has evolved so much throughout the last 4-5 decades and has actually led to inspiring many sub-genre’s of popular pop/rock music. It’s tough nevertheless to place this particular song into anything quite of that era. To me it appears more of a unpolished rock ballad left over from one of Live’s albums a.la The Dolphin’s cry. It’s all Love probably still is the most radio friendly of the SuperEVS songs put out so far. So hopefully they’ll re-arrange it a bit while recording to suit Lukas’s vocal range. Or else they’ll have the rights but no longer quite own the song

What the hell? “Slow it down to suit his range?” That’s one of the most nonsensical things I’ve ever heard a non musician say. Whatever you meant, Lukas had the biggest range in the house, comparable, yes…to Ed K. of Live. Even my 16 year old daughter picked up on that when listening to him on the radio. And as much as I like Magni, Lukas’s version of It’s All Love sounds MUCH better.

i don’t think so.. MAGNI’s it’s all love is WAY BETTER than that of lukas.. not that i don’t like lukas, but i still think MAGNI should have won.. too bad, he didn’t pick the right song at the finals.. he could’ve won..

Ok! If Phil Rocks!… How come he didn’t win Rockstar Supernova!?! And LUKAS did!:P Haha Suckers! Canada rocks and Lukas made it rock! I think Lukas well deserved it. He is very talented in his own unique way. He took my breath away when I 1st seen in preform on the show. I just had that feeling that he was diffinatly gonna make it to the bottom 2. and yes everyone else did a good performance throughout the show. But there had to be one winner and they certainly picked the right one. Goodjob Lukas on your success.

This song regardless of the front man, leaves me with little hope for the rest of the album. This studio polished, watered-down fodder tends to lead the listener to believe that 3 washed up musicians are making one last cash grab at the expense of the radio listneing public. The over use of cliches leaves interpretation wide open, which is a cheap way to write a song for any band, which is a shame b/c one of the best bass players in our generation seems wasted in a band such as this. I do believe that Lucas was the most deservant for the job and Newstead should stop wasting his time with a sex-driven Tommy Lee and rythm junky in Gilby Clarke. I sincerely hope they put a more creative and authentic effort into the rest of their album creatively and authentically. Let Lucas loose with some lyrics, shut Gilby Clarke up, and just pound out expressive rock!!! Anyway, that’s just the way I see it.

for any of yo u that have any dout that lukas isn’t going to do the bad justice, wait untill their album comes out, and it should all dissapear. the shit is gona hit the fan when the album comes out, and noone will say its bad.

The cd will rock – Lukas seems to have MUCH writing input, which of course will be excellent. HEADSPIN will be included which is also excellent. WE LOVE YOU LUKAS!

Lukas has an awsome voice. It’s original. But, I do believe he can do way better than super nova. I’ve been listening to his music since his group Cleavage, and I have to say…the man can sing.
I don’t find the song “it’s all love” to be rock. To me it sounds more pop. I think that may be why Lukas did not seem to fit the song. He has talent, and will go far.

i expected more of a rock sound from a guy from montley crue, guns and roses and metallica. i have to say i just finished listening to the album and im not impressed. dont think i’ll be buying this album.
