Lyrics to Throw it away(Toby Rand)

Posted in Music, Reality TV, Supernova at 11:18 pm by Incanus

Normally I find songs with sing along choruses annoying but Toby Rand’s original song Throwing it away is kind of growing on me. The lyrics are quite good and not really about having a good time(as I thought somewhat stupidly!). It’s more about losing one’s way post a drugs, sex n booze binge and wanting to give it all away. I don’t exactly dig his somewhat nasal tone on the high notes but he does have a good vocal range and sings with great passion. And of course his energy on stage has been a real revelation for me on the show. I’ll definitely like to follow what he does from here on provided he doesn’t get to front Supernova(or whatever they’ll call themselves if they lose the lawsuit over the name). In that case will have to pass coz I don’t listen to confused, directionless bands. And especially if they have the likes of Gilby Clarke and Tommy Lee in them… as Toby would say EVS.

Throw It Away(Toby Rand)

Verse 1:
I see the monsters causing trouble
In my head (oh ah oh….)
Hallucinations of a nature
making me wanna scream aloud ? A triple number

Wake up girl your sleepy eyes
are dripping morning sex (oh ah oh….)
The other night I couldn’t fight
and now I want revenge, my hazy lover

Chorus:
(I just don’t need it
chemical dreaming
throwing it all away) x 2
throwing it all away

These other people found the sequel
to my mistrust again (oh ah oh)

I want another life, to begin again
I want another life, to begin again
I can see the steeple,
Gonna kneel to forgive my sins (oh ah oh….)

Chorus: ….

I just don’t need it chemical dreaming
throwing it all away
I just don’t need it, can’t stop bleeding
need a recovery
I just don’t need it chemical dreaming
throwing it all away

verse 1

Lyrics to Back of your car(Ryan Star)

Ryan Star got the encore yesterday to his original song Back of your car. After all the buzz about his song being among the most downloaded songs in msn probably not a surprising outcome. Also I think Mark Burnet Rockstar Supernova’s producer is coming out with a Live record of Ryan Star with the House band. Well good PR and self promotion helps in music and Ryan is all over the place these days. Recently he even did an radio interview with Dave Navarro talking about his experiences on the show. Heck even I was induced now to have a more careful listen to that song!. And surprisingly(or maybe not!) I still don’t like it much despite the interesting lyrics and decent melody. I find Ryan’s vocals too screechy in the song and it grates my ears after a few listens. With his somewhat limited range his voice is more suited to slower songs maybe with the piano as seen in the show(Losing my religion, In the air tonight).

Back Of Your Car(Ryan Star)

It’s the perfect time of night,
To be losing your clothes now.
If you carefully take them off,
Then I’ll carefully show you how.
In a minute we’ll be gone,
So we might as well just fuck.
‘Cause the churches they’re all filled,
Empty prayers are out of luck.

Woah, woah
You’re not yourself, you’re not yourself tonight.
Woah, woah
You’ve got your life, now get yourself in mine.
Woah, woah
You won’t be sad, you won’t be satisfied.
Woah, woah

It’s the perfect time of night,
To be losing your mind now.
As the curtains finally fall,
Will you kindly take your bow.
So love our time, don’t waste your life.
It’s the perfect time of night,
To be losing your clothes.

Woah, woah
You’re not yourself, you’re not yourself tonight.
Woah, woah
You’ve got your life, now get yourself in mine.
Woah, woah
You won’t be sad, but you won’t be satisfied.
Woah, woah

Are you here?
So much fear.
It’s the first
time you need.
It’s the first
time you bleed.

I’ll wait for you in the back of my car,
Lets find out who you really are.
I’ll never change if you want me to,
You better change if I ask you.
So tell me what is the matter with this,
They say it starts with just one kiss.
We’re never gonna be here again.

Woah, woah
You lost yourself, you lost yourself tonight.
Woah, woah
You’ve got your life, now get yourself in mine.
Woah, woah
You won’t be sad, but you won’t be satisfied

[This is just a sleepy old blog(which no one reads) with my biased opinions so Ryan Star fans please don't flame me. I'm simply posting what the music does to me not what anyone else on tv or online forums is telling me.]

Lyrics to When the time comes (Magni)

Posted in Music, Reality TV, Supernova at 5:12 pm by Incanus

I love Magni’s original song and it’s slowly finding it’s way right to the top of my current playlist. For a song translated from Icelandic at short notice the words are as powerful as the vocals of the man singing them. A song about staying true to one’s self identity at all costs, it can well be interpreted as a not-so-veiled response to all the silly negative vibes Magni’s got from Supernova. And Gilby Clarke of all people has the gall to say Magni can’t write lyrics!! My admiration for the Iceman continues to grow manifold with each little bit of him I get to see. Too bad the reality circus is ending this week. But anyway Magni will now be free to do his own thing, which I for one will follow closely.

When the time comes (Magni)

Telling me to cover me
Trying to tell me who to be
Out of sight, in my reach
You can’t get what you can’t see

Chorus 1: I’ll know that the time will come
When you’ll look back to see
So clear of all the bridges
That you burn in front of me

Every breath, every move
Every smile you ever faked
Close your eyes look inside
At all those things you had to change

Chorus 2: I’ll know that the time will come
When you’ll look back to see
So clear all the things
You left inside my heart to see

Chorus 3: I know that the time will come
As you’ll look back to see
So clear all the bridges
That you burn in front of me

As long as there are stars
There is nothing that can change
My feelings for you
I never felt this much alive
But the walls are coming down on me
I can’t find the reason to be free

Chorus 4(2 times): I’ll know that the time will come
When you’ll look back to see
So clear all the bridges
That you burn in front of me

And yes for whatever it’s worth Tommy Lee was is an asshole whose inane music I’ve never bought nor will ever consider listening to. More analysis about last night’s performances when I’m less pissed off at that asshole, prick, insolent, sexist dimwit.
